Lincoln - LetterboxD Review

Original Review Link

As good a performance as you'll see all year. I remember hearing something on another review (Empire Podcast I believe) that rang true, that simply said that when watching Lincoln, you forget you are watching an actor play Abraham Lincoln, you feel like you are watching Abraham Lincoln.

The film is from the Munich and Schindler's List side of Spielberg film making. By the time you get to the powerful finale, you feel like you've been on a journey and the pay off in the extended vote sequence towards the end is well worth the wait.

But at the end of the day, the star of the show, as he always ends up being, is Daniel Day Lewis... who is superb!

I rated this movie 4 stars out of 5 and I suspect that Mr. Lewis may be collecting a shiny gold statue from the Academy very soon!
