Grabbers - LetterboxD Review

Original Review Link

Following in the very shiny and respectable shoes of the likes of Slither, Severance, Dog Soldiers and even the epicness [sic] of Tremors, Grabbers is the oft terrible, unquestionably difficult genre film that is the "ironic, self aware, comedy horror".

Telling the tale of an octopus like, land based squid thingy, Grabber's, when it finally gets going about a third of the way through, hurtles along at a decent pace. Aside from a slightly misjudged performance towards the end by Ruth Bradley as a cliched drunk Irish lass, this is a mostly charming, genuinely funny and entertaining romp. The cast are largely likable and the story itself, while not entirely original, it good fun. If you're a fan of these kind of horror comedies, it's is highly recomended!

I rated this movie 4 stars out of 5
